Fabon Dzogang - Research Associate
I obtained my PhD in Computer Science - Machine Learning/Data Mining from the University Pierre et Marie Curie - Paris 6 on July 18th, 2013 (LIP6/CNRS).

I am a Lead Author and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Bristol in collaboration with Professor Nello Cristianini under the ERC advanced grant ThinkBig, and Neuroscientist Professor Stafford Lightman. My focus is on unsupervised learning from textual streams and the challenging theoretical perspectives in Data Science. I work on addressing big questions about our emotions from a neuroscience perspective. I am also developing exciting machine learning applications in computational Social Science and in Humanities.

I have wide research interests in the area of machine learning applied to high dimensional data such as texts, in subjective settings (sentiment and emotions), and in dynamic settings (information streams on the World Wide Web). I also study efficient learning algorithms that scale with the tremendous amount of data collected from the Internet, with a special concern on the data representation and comparison problem.

On the practical side, I extract and transform massive data sets with Python (numpy/multi-threading), and prototype with C/C++.
